Upgrade comment: annoyances disappeared after a fresh install of Mandriva 2007 Free \
Spring with defaults (but not with original 2007 Free), it is, blank /home and /usr; \
kernel 2.6.17?, KDE 3.5.x, Amarok 1.4.5+ (is has got upgrades since install, so I'm \
not very sure of original versions, but keeps working).

Being myself a near-common desktop user, I've tested Ubuntu and don't like its \
"easyness" (I mean, limited tweaking, tinkering, software choices and expandability); \
maybe the most familiar distro for Ubuntuers is Mandriva Free. Give it a try, this \
may give you a solution for bugs of this kind someday, as did for me. I don't like \
either Amarok SVN (nor any SVN), it has built and installed only once among countless \
attempts; we desktop-users have quite a bounch of trouble setting the environment up \
for making SVN and its installs work.
