well, revisiting, this seems to bea bug after all ;)
and still there in revision 680456, stable branch.

steps to reproduce :

filter in the collection browser (tree view) so that only single artist or album is \
returned; right click, edit tags for any one track, save & close. now, both that \
track and artist (or album) is selected, thus resulting in a double selection. \
visually, it is hard to notice that album/artist got selected. \
