I find it odd that we have such a discussion about the right to store public images \
on the local hard disk that are not distributed in any way, while at the same time \
amarok is caching the lyrics as well.
It would be great, if the image source could be configured via plugins as it is done \
today for lyrics. If the amarok developers fear legal consequences (which I can \
understand in todays times :-( ) they could deliver only the Amazon image plugin and \
allow others to provide a Google Images plugin.
Or is there really some thing of agreement with amazon? I mean, if you just need the \
images, why is every cover linked to the Amazon product page? Is there some kind of \
sponsorship, since a Developer ID is submitted each time to Amazon? Click on an image \
and check the URL. It ends with &link_code=xm2&camp=2025&dev-t=D1URM11J3F2CEH on my \
amarok and on the amarok of a friend, so I guess this is a hardcoded ID.
I would be OK with a sponsorship through amazon, if it helps to keep this fantastic \
project running, but then I would like to know it as well and then I would also \
understand, why to keep the Amazon cover source exclusively. \
