Amarok uses gtkpod, which in turn uses libgpod as library. AFAIK everything
including iPod Touch Gen 4 and above can only be uses as read only devices,
unless there is a newer version of the library. The manufacturer chose to
jail-in its devices, there is very little we can do on our side,
unfortunately.

PS. With Apple discontinuing its iTunes service even their devices get
obsolete now...
