Hi folks,

Has anyone added built in support to deal with device files under
these directories instead of /dev/{r,}dsk under HP-UX? I have run into a
wierd problem.

In the past I have just created hard links from the /dev/vgxxx
device files into /dev/dsk/{r,}dsk and all was well.

Recently, I created a volume group and went with the boring
/dev/vgNN naming scheme, where NN is a number. Previously I used names
like /dev/vghome, etc. Now the hard links to the block devices behave
badly under dump. When I try to dump from the link to the block device,
e.g. /dev/dsk/home, dump insists on trying to open /dev/dsk/rhome as if
/dev/dsk were the volume group directory.

I never had a problem with this in the past. Has anyone else
seen this and come up with a work around? Can newer versions of Amanda
deal with disklist entries in different directories? BTW, I am running
amanda-2.3.0.

thanks,

	Adrian
