just in case anyone else might have done this ;) -

i just wrote a little Gtk-- interface for the Hammerfall. Its uses the
layout of RME's own one for Windows (see
http://www.rme-audio.com/english/digi96/hammer.htm) except that it
adds an additional notebook page that lets you punch each channel in
and out of its hardware monitoring state and back again. of course,
right now, none of the callbacks do anything, but thats a mere
detail!
