how do you feel about ALSA containing a driver that doesn't really use
the pcm_lib code ? To be more precise, my "port" of Winfried's
Hammerfall driver currently looks as though it has little use for any
of the pcm lib code. The card does so much itself that using either
the stream or block mode code in pcm_lib results in a large amount of
overhead that is really unnecessary (for stream mode, anyway; block
mode would be quite foreign to this card).

Does this sound OK to you, or did you really anticipate all cards
using the pcm_lib code ?
