In general when I get a new version of (al)pine what I do is the
following:
- I save the old .pinerc in a backup copy
- then go through M S C (and the release notes, and the other areas
of M S)
- I click on the spot help ( "?" when cursor is on a particular
configuration line) for all options or features which I recognise
as new, or whose behaviour is said to be changed ... in doing this
I use the content of the backup .pinerc as reference
then I experiment witth new or modified options or features, and
finally decide which ones are interesting and with which value
_ using the help is helpful :-) because you see both the options and
the features
- eventually you may want to tick Expose Hidden Config to see in
M S C some of the options in .pinerc which are normally hidden.
You may then untick it if you wish (I keep them permanently
exposed)
