Gary,

Change the protocol to xon instead of rts and forcedcd on tty1.

Subject: Setting up a Modem on an H70

This is probably a no-brainer.......but then again.....

I had a 28.8 modem hooked up to my H70 for dial-in. Everything worked just
fine.

So, the other day I connected a 56K US Robotics Sportster Fax Modemto get a
little faster dial-in access.
Can't get the little sucker to work.

When I do a

pdisable tty1
cu -l tty1

I immediately get a

connected

Lost Carrier.

The connection is ended.

The following is my /usr/lib/uucp/Devices entries:

Direct tty1 - Any direct

My switch settings are:

S
1 ^ DTR
2 ^ Verbal Output
3 V Display Results code
4 ^ Echo off
5 ^ Auto Answer
6 ^ Carrier Detect
7 V Load Factory defaults
8 V Smart mode

^ means switch is up
V means switch is down.

My smitty settings are as follows:
