Either:

a) Call IBM (800)CALL-AIX and ask them, or...

b) Wait till Monday when everyone is back and maybe someone with a 4.1.5
system can answer.

When I look back on my backups from prior to our recent upgrade ( 4.2.1 to
4.3.2) I can see the file which is actually a pointer from /usr/lib/libdl.a
to /usr/ccs/lib/libdl.a.

Thanks for all your help guys. But I can't find this particular file-set on
any of two CD's I have for AIX 4.1.5. any suggestion will be welcome.

Also, from one of the PTF's of 4.3.2, and of course 4.3.3 you can use:

which_fileset <filename>, as in which_fileset libdl.a. I realize this is of
no use to our colleague making the request since he is on an older release,
but it can perhaps be useful to others.

The correct answer (bos.rte.bind_cmds) has already been given, but I just
want to point out for those who don't know that determine in which fileset a
file resides, run:

lslpp -w <full_path_to_file>

(of course, the file must already exist)

You can run the following command to see all the files (and symbolic links)
installed by a particular fileset:

lslpp -f <fileset_name>

Again, everyone probably already know this, but there might be some who
don't.
