Do your cfgmgr runs seem to take a long time? With only a single SCSI 
connection you should not see the multiple paths. We had something similar a 
long time ago, too many copies (ghosts) of a disk, and cfgmgr would take 
forever to run.  Turns out we had a misconfiguration on the ESS. In the 
modify volume  assignments window in the Specialist, see if you have "Use 
same ID/LUN in source and target" checked.  If it is checked uncheck it, 
perform the update, and then probably go to your host, export the vg, remove 
the hdisks, reconfigure, and import the vg.
