Can you not force the vg to vary-on? Can you turn off quorum and then
try to vary-on the vg?

Subject: Lost Disk Array

Hello All,
I have an F40 with a raid controller and two internal raid 5 arrays.
One
array in each of two six packs (hdisk6 and hdisk7). Each array has 6 18
gig
drives. I have been having problems with a drive in hdisk7. and today
the
system crashed. When the system came back up nothing would mount. I
look
at the array status and it was showing only hdisk7 but with the drives
from
hdisk6. hdisk6 was channel 1 with 18, 19 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D and hdisk7 was
channel 2 with 28, 29, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D. Now it shows hdisk7 with 18-1D.
I
decided to wipe out the filesystems, volume group (which had hdisk6 and
hdisk7). Remove each array and re-make the arrays. Somehow the volume
group is varied off and when I try to varyonvg pdxvg it tells me quorum
problem, not enough disks. I cannot remove the filesystems because it
says
I have to have the volume group varied on and I can remove the volume
group
because it cannot remove the logical volumes. Does anyone know how I
can
get rid of this volume group and filesystems??????

Thanks,
Jim Naylor
