Anyone using socks or squid for this? Where do I get the packages for
these?

Also, I am having a problem getting port forwarding to work with ssh
from the Linux box into the AIX box( which is connected to the
Internet via ppp).

 linux # ssh -L 1080:192.168.0.11:80 192.168.0.11

I start up mozilla with the proxy setting of 127.0.0.1 port 1080.
Here's the error when I try to load a webpage:

channel 2: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed

This is on the stderr on the Linux side. There is nothing in the
logs on the AIX side. I'm almost sure it's a setting on the Linux
machine. There no /etc/hosts.deny or /etc/ssh/known_hosts on
either machine. This is from ICMP.

Thanks!
