well, you may still have issues....when you do a make in your /var/yp on
your master, will THAT transfer time out? that would be your ongoing
concern.

I was able to transfer with ypxfr. Then could manually startsrc -s ypserv.
And I can now bind to the slave. But it will not work with mkslave.
lppchk -f runs clean.
I'll keep looking.

Subject: NIS slave server over wan
Trying to setup a NIS slave server on AIX 4.3.3 over the wan on a different
subnet.
When trying to configure the machine as a slave get the following error:
Can't enumerate the maps. make sure it is running mkslave.
We are using smit to set up the slave.
The machine works as a nis client and all maps are available with ypcat.
The NIS master ypserver map has been updated to add the new machine.
Any ideas, it could firewall filtering, but everything esle seems to work.
