Subject: SCSI-1?

I am trying to access a SCSI EEG (electroencephalogram) amplifier from
my Linux laptop with an Adaptec SlimSCSI 1480A. My problem is that
the device is not being detected. The amplifier requires SCSI-1
compliance, so I'm wondering if the aic7xxx driver is SCSI-1
compliant. Other SCSI devices, such as a zip drive and a CDRW, are
detected okay. I'm running Red Hat 6.0 with pcmcia-3.0.14.
The 1480A and EEG amp all work fine with the Win95 driver supplied by
the company.
Thanks for any advice you can give me. I really want to make this
work, rather than going back to Winxx.
Here is some info.
