Dear Colleagues and Members

At the last AfriNIC meeting which was held in Durban, AfriNIC was approached
by some telecom operators present regarding the integration of their
services over IP and how it is impacted by AfriNIC's activity and Policies.

In order to share best practices and have greater participation of the
traditional telcos from AfriNIC service region, they have proposed to set-up
working group.

Some of the objectives of this working group are to:
- Involve more telcos into AfriNIC activities and policy development process
- Discuss specific issues related to IP infrastructure deployment from Telco
perspective
- Propose special sessions/meetings/Presentations of this working group
during AfriNIC meetings

This working group is open to anyone interested in the evolution which is
currently happening in the traditional telecom network related to Internet
Protocol.

To support this initiative we have created a mailing list,
afritelco-wg@afrinic.net which would help coordinate the discussions.

The mailing list is open and anyone can subscribe to it via
https://lists.afrinic.net/mailman/listinfo.cgi/afritelco-wg or by sending a
blank mail to afritelco-wg-subscribe@afrinic.net

This initiative from the community is led by Didier Kla (Cote d'Ivoire
Telecom, Ivory Coast) who can be contacted directly at padkla@gmail.com

Best Regards

Hisham R. Rojoa
