Rick,
Yes, the administrator did have ulimit set to unlimited.
The AIX Admin just figured out the issue. It turns out that she had sudo bash not \
sudo su - when she started the client services.
Closing the ticket.
Thank you!

Pam
I also ran into these errors which in my case insufficient memory available on the \
client to meet the client's processing needs. This also can be associated with the \
root user ulimits setting as was recommended here when it appears that you submitted \
the question back in April.

Have you tried the suggestions they recommended?

Subject: [ADSM-L] AIX Client Backup problem
Hello,
We are seeing the following messages on a new AIX server with a TSM 7.1.4.4 client.
07/19/16 09:50:10 calloc() failed: Size 31496 File ../mem/mempool.cpp Line 1030
07/19/16 09:50:10 ANS1999E Incremental processing of '/' stopped.
This happens with and without the Memoryefficientbackup and Diskcachemethod \
parameters.
If we exclude the '/' filesystem, the backup completes successfully.
I have opened a PMR, but thought I would ask you fine people if you have had any \
similar experiences.
Thank you,
Pam
