Hi Geoff,

With Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft removed the ability
to perform traditional API backups. Microsoft only supports
VSS-style backups with Exchange Server 2010.

Data Protection for Exchange fully supports this.
Data Protection for Exchange VSS backups utilize
the VSS Requestor function within the TSM base client.

Data Protection for Exchange 6.3 has a configuration wizard
to help you with the additional setup steps.

I encourage you to take a look at the Data Protection
for Exchange User's Guide. It has specific details
about Exchange Server 2010. Here is the link:
