Hook up the new drive to the same system (duh). Define it, the drives, the
devclass, etc. Then create a pool for the new robot. Then set the
nextstgpool parameter on the existing tape pool to point to the new pool
and set the migration threshold to 0. Voila, you're doing it! Depending
on how much data you've got, this could take awhile.

I am currently using ADSM 3.0 with a StorageTek 9714 tape library.
I am going to purchase a new
IBM Magstar library to replace the StorageTek. My question is what is
the most efficient way of getting
all the data from the storage pool on the StorageTek to the new storage
pool on the Magstar?

Also if anyone has any lessons learned from installing new tape
drives to replace existing ones, I
would appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance
