We use the following
 
dsmlabel -drive=/dev/rmt2,16 -drive=/dev/rmtt3,17 -library=/dev/smc1 -search
 -barcode
 
followed by
 
    checkin libv 3575lib search=yes status=scratch checkl=barcode
