What ever we do we should ensure compatibility even when we add NMS 2.x api. Just as \
like in JMS when going 1.x to 2.x all old methods and classes were not removed, just \
simply newer. This ensured no breaking changes to any existing code, or frameworks \
that had built around.

Nothing particular that I am aware of. I can create a PR with these
changes, but I am not sure if this should be a part of nms 2.0 work (as it
may be considered as a breaking change for some folks), or not?
